Having mentioned a lot of my favourite eye and lip products in my OOTD posts, I though I would share with you some of the face products I have yet to mention on this blog. I have chosen my 2 favourite primers, foundations, concealers, powders and cheek colours to share with you today and give you some recommendations if you're looking for a new product to try!
Primers.
A few months ago I was in superdrug looking for a new primer for my spot prone skin when I bumped into an old friend and we began talking about makeup and she recommended using this Superdrug tea tree facial moisturiser (£2.99) as a primer. She to me when she was having a bad skin day she'd use this for a few days and it would clear up her skin despite wearing makeup. I tried it myself and it worked a dream! I wouldn't recommend using it regularly as it has a very strong odour and can be quite heavy on the skin - but when I need to clear up my skin but still want to wear makeup, this is a dream product! unfortunately I don't believe you can buy this exact product anymore; but the superdrug tea tree facial cream (£3.99) is very similar!
For everyday use, I have fallen in love with the Rimmel fix and Perfect pro primer in 002. I first used this after I needed a primer for my school leavers prom in June 2014 and it was a free gift with some other makeup I bought to wear so I thought I might as well try it. My prom makeup stayed on the whole time, from when I did it about 3 in the afternoon until I got home at midnight! I have since used this primer for everyday use at college, to go under my face paint for our college's fancy dress RAG charity day and for wearing to college parties (when I could have my makeup on from college in the morning until after the party that night). Yet, with this primer my makeup never comes of!
Foundations.
Since I started wearing foundation; have only ever used and loved two different foundations - both which happen to be by Rimmel. First, I was introduced to Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation (£7.99) by my sister. I love the way that it high coverage, yet doesn't feel heavy on the skin and lasts all day (I have even worn it through dance rehearsal and it has moved in the slightest!)My second favourite foundation is a newer discovery and it is Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation (£7.99). This foundation is a bit lighter coverage the lasting finish; but it is fantastic at brightening up the skin as well as covering redness and dark circles when I have to get up early for college. As well as that, it has a really nice finish and lasts all day too, which is why it is a new favourite!
Concealers.
Both my all time favourite concealers both happen to be Rimmel too! First is the Rimmel Match Perfection concealer (£5.99) which I have been using to under my eyes due to it's brightening qualities. The brush tip makes applying and blending it really easy, making application quick and simple. My other favourite concealer of the moment is the Rimmel lasting finish concealer (£5.49). This concealer is great for more heavy duty coverage yet it doesn't feel heavy or look cakey on the skin - making it great for covering redness and blemishes.
Powders.
I have two powders that I love to use and both are mattifying powders that are very similar. The first is the Rimmel stay matte powder (£3.99) and the second is Maybelline matte maker powder (£3.99). Both are brilliant at mattifying your face after applying foundation or (if like me) you suffer with oily skin ad don't want to wear foundation some days, it is great for applying directly onto the skin too. They both are also very long wearing and don't look flaky or overly powdery on the face.
Cheek Products.
I will admit that I'm not the biggest fan of bronzers or blushers and hence do not on many. However, I do have a favourite bronzer and blusher of the moment that I have chosen to share with you. The bronzer is Rimmel natural bronzer in 002 sun bronze (£4.99) and it is perfect for people with paler, more pink undertone skin who want that sun-kissed glow all year round. My second product is the 17 cheek stamp blusher in bashful (£4.99). The quirky stamp applicator makes it easy to apply the perfect amount to the apples of your cheeks which then just needs blending out. It also is very pigmented enabling you to easily achieve that flushed look, yet the colour isn't too bright either.
I hope you enjoyed looking at these products and I love to try new ones, so if you have any recommendations let me know in the comments (especially for blushers, highlighters and bronzers!).
